I connected with the idea that students who struggle with writing are focusing so hard on the mechanics of writing, they forget the intended message. I have experienced this especially with students who have working memory difficulties.
A challenge for me is help the students make the connection with reading and writing and helping them to actively think, see monitor and evaluate.

I connected with the idea that reading and writing were interconnected. All of the skills needed for reading are the same skills needed for writing
